I have never been successful with this, but I do realize that with working full time and starting my own business I need to get comfortable with doing this, si I am giving this a try.

I thought I was the only person in the world who was a compulsive list maker. The thought of leaving my house without my list of errands, groceries, calls I can make while I’m driving, etc. panics me. I am not careless when driving so when I am at a traffic light, I’ll have my pad and pen ready b/c I’ll always have another list brewing in my head.
The most rewarding feeling is when I can mark through each task that is done. That feeling gives me “happy feet”. LOL !

I’ve always wanted to make a “bucket list”, but as I start to write down my list, I start writing un-realistic things that there is no way in my wildest dreams they could come true, unless with the help of others financially. So, I’m trying to find a way to think of things that make me happy and others happy. How can I make a list without the “negative” whip lash that follows my want/wish. Such as, I would love to experience a walking tour of the beautiful countryside of England with my sister. But the negative to this is we both don’t have money for this (i’m on disability for my health and my sister owns her own business and has no time). So there’s no money to pay for this and I can’t see where we could get the money to do this. I always feel like there is a negative to every “wish”. Is this what makes it a ‘bucket list’ as they are possibly impossible to achieve without the help of others. Also my health is not great and I can’t imagine me walking for days w/o having issues. But this is always something I’ve wanted to do. I feel terrible writing these things down as I know deep down in my heart that I could never accomplish them with out the help of others. I don’t want to be a charity case, but more, I would like to be comfortable, less the guilt with my wish if it were to come true. But as it stands, this wish could never come true as there are huge obstacles. So, do I make a list that others can see and perhaps it might be on their ‘bucket list’ to help someone with their ‘bucket list wish’. I’m not talking about on the internet, but more a list on the fridge that the family can see. Kinda like a Christmas Wish List. Does this make sense? Are others experiencing the frustration that I am? I hate to sound so negative, but I feel that I’m being realistic. People that don’t have money can’t always have their list completed. But, I do believe that I can make a list of things to do such as making a list of people that inspired me (non famous) and make a card for them and tell them how they inspired me and made a difference in my life for the positive. This to me a true ‘bucket list’ that doesn’t require much money, but more it’s coming from the heart. I don’t know, I’m confused. There are so many things that I want to do before I die and there are so many things that I want to help me feel good about how I made a difference in this world while I was around. I guess I’m answering my own questions. There are two types of list….1. Realistic 2. Unachievable in my own reality, but it’s nice to see on the list. What the heck is wrong with me? I try so hard to be positive, and I can’t stand people that are ‘overly’ positive (unrealistic). It’s almost like you either believe in ghost or you don’t. You can see it or you can’t. So, I’m in the middle.

    • Hi Lisa — thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I think the main thing to remember here is to make some “small wins” for yourself when you’re setting goals. Of course you want to have all the goals that you dream to achieve — but you also want to have some attainable ones that will give you a boost! I say start with baby steps. I think you should read “The Secret” — it may help you focus better. Good luck and thanks for sharing! :)
